10th R.R. Thomas Memorial Inter-College Debate Competition on the motion “Traditional Institutions Have Become Redundant in a Globalized Era” organized by the Meghalaya College Teachers’ Association (MCTA)
The Meghalaya College Teachers’ Association (MCTA) organised the 10th R.R. Thomas Memorial Inter-College Debate Competition on the motion “Traditional Institutions Have Become Redundant in a Globalized Era” on the 6th December, 2013 at the Conference Hall, St Anthony’s College, Shillong. Mark Stone Laitphlang, the grandson of (L) Prof R.R. Thomas and the CEO, Avenues was the Chief Guest. While Prof L. Marbaniang was the Speaker; Dr A.S. Guha, Regional Director, IGNOU, Shillong, Prof P.M. Passah and Prof. B. Ingty were the judges. All together, there were 14 participants representing 7 Colleges. Mr Nangiaisan Kharlukhi (St. Anthony’s) was adjudged as the Best Debater, Ms Daphine Lyngdoh (St. Anthony’s College) won the second prize and the third prize was awarded to Mr. Kevinson Jyrwa (BBS College). St. Anthony’s College was declared the Champion team.
