MCTA to observe Justice Day

Meghalaya College Teachers Association to observe Justice Day on 12th July 2017

In the AIFUCTO Zonal Meeting held on the 24th of June, 2017 at ICSSR (NERC) NEHU, Shillong AIFUCTO President Prof Keshab Bhattacharya and General Secretary Prof Arun Kumar apprised the members about the developments that took place in the last few months. Prof Arun Kumar expressed his anguish at the way the central government is pushing Indian higher education towards privatisation and corporatisation, ridding itself of all social and financial commitment towards promoting higher education.
The National Executive Committee of AIFUCTO unanimously resolved to go for direct action against the central government’s apathetic attitude towards teachers and higher education at large. AIFUCTO resolved for observance of ‘Justice Day’ on 12th July, 2017 to sensitize the issues among teachers in the states and across the country. It also called for a massive march and rally at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi on 24th July, 2017. At the Zonal meeting held at Shillong the affiliates of AIFUCTO passed a resolution to participate in strength in both the activities of the AIFUCTO.
In this connection, the Meghalaya College Teachers Association (MCTA) an affiliate of AIFUCTO resolved to uphold the collective decision made at the Zonal Meet.
As part of the observance:

1. The office of MCTA Shillong will hold a Press Conference on the 11th of July at Shillong Press Club to sensitise the masses on these issues. 
2. Various Units of MCTA shall hold separate programmes at the Unit level to observe Justice Day.
3. A leaflet shall be distributed by units appraising about the different issues at the National level and State Level. [##download## Download Leaflet ##file-pdf-o##]
